Menus, KEY ASGN, PHONE (For KP-12, DKP-12 Only)
You use this menu item to assign a general purpose phone key that can be used for manual dialing, auto-dialing or re-dialing.
A TIF Interface must be connected to the intercom system to use this feature

To assign a phone key, do the following:
1. Using the SELECTOR control, select PHONE.
The point-to-point scroll list displays for the currently selected intercom system.
2. Turn the SELECT control to locate one (1) of the two (2) intercom ports to which the TIF is connected, then tap
SELECT.
The call waiting window displays TAP KEY.
3. Tap the intercom key you want to use as a phone key.
The name of the intercom port you select appears in the display above the key.
NOTE:
If restrictions against key assignments have been imposed using the intercom system configuration
software, the intercom key may ignore the assignment. In this case, contact the intercom system
administrator if you need to make a change.
Unlike most other types of key assignments which let you select the activation method (talk, listen,
talk+auto follow, etc.), phone keys are always assigned as talk keys with auto-listen. When you activate
the key both talk and listen are activated.
4. Double-tap the SELECT control to return to the previous menu level.
OR
Press and hold the SELECT control for two (2) seconds to exit menu mode.
NOTE: For a phone key, the port assignments are automatically uploaded to the intercom system and saved to the
on-line configuration. However, the phone function itself must be saved locally using the SAVE CFG
command. See “Menus, SERVICE, SAVE CFG” on page 52.. Otherwise, the phone function will be lost
when the keypanel is turned OFF.
Menus, KEY ASGN, REDIAL (For KP-12, DKP-12 Only)
You use this menu item to assign a redial key for use along with one or more phone keys. If the KP-12 has multiple phone keys
assigned, the redial key redials the last number dialed on the last phone key that was used.
To assign redial to a key, do the following:
1. Using the SELECTOR control, select REDIAL.
The point-to-point scroll list displays for the currently selected intercom system.
2. Turn the SELECT control to locate one (1) of the intercom ports which the TIF is connected, then tap SELECT.
The call waiting window displays TAP KEY.
3. Tap the intercom key that you want to use as a redial key.
The name RDL appears in the display above the key.
NOTE:
If restrictions against key assignments have been imposed using the intercom system configuration
software, the intercom key may ignore the assignment. In this case, contact the intercom system
administrator if you need to make a change.
1. If the intercom system is trunked, and the TIF is located in another intercom system. turn the SELECT control to display ICOM, followed
by the desired intercom system name, then tap SELECT. Wait for the point-to-point list to be obtained from the selected intercom system.
